Hotel di Medan - Forty people were killed by a bus they were traveling plunged into the abyss as deep as 100 feet in the area of Sablan, near the city of Baguio, Philippines, Wednesday (18 / 8).
Ten passengers, including a 10-year-old boy survived the accident of death. Nine of them then rushed to the hospital, said Maj. Wilben, provincial police chief Benquet, north of Manila.
Major said the 39 bodies could be evacuated from the bus wreckage. Six hours later, rescue teams can evacuate one more corpse wedged among the debris near the engine bus that wrecked.
The driver who survived despite a broken foot, will be questioned about the cause of this deadly accident.
Provisional estimates, this fateful bus had brake free from tension, while down the road is fairly steep hills. The driver allegedly tried to stop the bus on a light pole but failed, to plunge into a ravine.
"I jumped off the bus to the curb, before the bus fell into a ravine," said Flores, one of the passengers who survived.
Flores claimed to be the first to go down to the carcass of the bus at the bottom of a ravine and rescue ten-year-old boy who suffered a broken arm injury. After that the new local residents come in handy.
This fateful bus menangkut 50 passengers from the southern mountain town of Baguio, and later had an accident in the area sablan, about eight miles from the city.
